Way Out West Videos

Originally called Echo, the name Way Out West was based on one of the band’s remixes. The duo has performed and produced together for at least sixteen years. Releasing their famous debut in the year 1997, their album has released fantastic singles and Way Out West videos like “Blue,” which reinterprets a theme from the movie Withnail and I; “Ajare;” “Domination;” and the top 15 UK hit “The Gift,” which features Joanna Law’s cover of the piece “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face.”

Releasing their second album “Intensify” in the year 2001, it was a shift from the defunct Deconstruction Records label towards Distinctive Records, which changed their sound from sampled vocals and club instrumentals to a mix of original songs and club tracks. Singles from this album include “Mindcircus,” which reached #39 in the UK Singles Chart, and “Intensify,” which was a global club hit. “Activity” also appeared in this release, which was derived from a game in PlayStation 2 called Kinetica.

The dynamic duo also released their third full-length album in 2004, titled Don’t Look Now and featured Omi, their vocalist in various tracks. The song “Don’t Forget Me” became a featured music on the season 2 of Grey’s Anatomy, and “Melt” showed a dramatic appearance on The O.C. A loop inside their song “The Gift” was used as a little theme on the MTV show True Life. Instrumental versions of their song “Just Like a Man” appeared on CSI Miami’s season 3, episode 8. “Anything but You” became a featured song of the video game Tiger Woods PGA Tour 7, and “Killia” was featured in the video game Juiced.

Way Out West contributed to a song called “Evelina” in 2008 for the Survival International charity album Songs for Survival. We Love Machine, the dynamic duo’s fourth album, was released on October 5, 2009.
